As a rule of thumb: if your web browser natively supports playback of a file format (for example H.264), COPRA will do as well. Here's an overview:
File Formats
-
H.264 clips (as .mov / .m4v / .mp4)
-
H.265 (HEVC) clips (as.mov / .m4v / .mp4), plays back on supported devices only
HDR: COPRA supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision, on devices like Apple TV 4K, iPhone X, etc. Please consult our HDR tutorial for more information.
Resolutions & Frame Rate
-
there's no resolution limitation in COPRA; please make sure that all playback devices do support higher resolutions, though
-
our recommendations: 720p (1280 x 720 px) or 1080p (1920 x 1080 px)
-
no frame rate limitation, higher frame rates (HFR) are supported
Data Rates
-
in our experience a data rate between 2-4 MBit/s (at 1280 x 720 px) and 6-8 MBit/s (at 1920 x 1080 px) is the best compromise between playback speed and quality
-
don’t forget that some users will access the dailies from their phone - without WiFi
Audio
-
2 channel AAC Audio, 1 track only (various configurations like Stereo, Mono, DualMono, etc. are possible), we recommend a data rate of 128 kbps or higher
Metadata
-
COPRA supports Metadata ingest either via .ale or COPRA XML
-
metadata exchange tutorials for DaVinci Resolve, Silverstack Lab, SCRATCH, etc. can be found here.
Watermark
-
you can either burn-in your custom watermark or use COPRA's built-in functionality
-
in COPRA, navigate to Project Settings and choose where you want the watermark to
be displayed
note: by default COPRA displays the user's first and last name, use the text field for additional info
